Dec 31, 2011 Autohelm/Raymarine made both an AH3000 and an ST3000. The only difference was the control head. When I got my boat, it had an AH3000 control head, and I changed it to an ST3000 head (via an adapter lead) that had Seatalk.

I have an old A2000 tillerpilot - the one consisting of a cylindrical tiller actuator and a separate 'pot' shaped control box with a rather charming twistable compass rose on top.
The thing has stopped working. All I've checked so far is that it is getting power in from the 12v plug, but I notice that where the power cable enters the bottom of the pot, the core cables are visible (i.e. the outer covering of the cable has pulled back) which makes me suspect that I've strained the cable at some time and may have pulled a connection out. Before I consign the whole issue to the skip, I'd like to get inside the pot and check it out.
However, there's no obvious means of opening the pot. There is a bottom and a top half, which seem to sandwich an O ring, but they don't show any inclination to unscrew one from the other.
Has anyone on the board ever opened one of these up, and if so, how?
